Sharing my travel & photography adventures
I guess there is no better time than my first blog post, for you to get to know what makes me tick. I believe every experience good or bad has an impact on who we are today and who we are continually becoming.
I was blessed with a picture-perfect childhood because of my wonderful parents and family. I grew up on a ranch in Northern Utah where we spent a lot of time learning the meaning of hard work and exploring the Uintah Mountains the rest of the time.
Occasionally we left our state to explore other beautiful landscapes. Traveling not only created amazing memories but also learning experiences. Over time, most of those learning experiences have turned into fond memories, that we have all been able to laugh about for years.
Like that one time my parents took 2 young teenagers, 1 pre-teen, and me, an 8 yr old, camping in Southern Utah. The intention was to get a great night's sleep on the soft sand under the small pup tent and go hiking and exploring the next day. My dad even decided to spoil us with cooking ribs over the fire. This was before cell phones and weather apps. The wind went through that canyon like it was being chased by a screaming banshee. The ribs were covered in sand and the tent was blowing around so much that no one slept.
I’m sure in the moment no one was happy or enjoying the situation. We were however able to spend time exploring Goblin Valley State Park. We all have great memories of that mystical land and want to share that place with our children.
Traveling is not always Instagram perfect. Real traveling can come with frustration and exhaustion. It also can come with witnessing majestic vistas of new places and experiencing new cuisines and cultures. All while strengthening old relationships and creating new ones.
I love where I was raised, as I am sure you do, and home will always be home, no matter where that might be for each one of us. There are also so many beautiful and unique places in the world for us to experience. I believe that traveling only builds our character and makes us better humans.
I not only love to visit new places but I love to capture what makes them unique and beautiful. Photography has been a passion since I was a child. During Covid, like many of us, I decided there was no time like the present to spend more time doing what I love; seeing the world with my camera in my hands, and capturing authentic relationships through lifestyle photography.
Here, in my blog, you’ll get to know me a little more. You’ll see the good and the bad of traveling, as well as some amazing people I meet along the way.
It’s an honor to share my work with you and I hope you will find a little joy or inspiration to chase your own travel dreams. I would love for you to be able to experience that joy in your own home, every time you walk by one of my images on your wall.
